Input Data reads a file or connection into a workflow. Text Input stores a small table directly in the workflow, which is useful for a few parameters or a lookup you maintain by hand. A Browse tool helps inspect a stream without changing its records. Output Data writes the configured result after the upstream tools have run.
A file path and a field value have different jobs. Changing the displayed filename doesn't transform the records, and Browse doesn't save a report. In this simulator, Input Data reads local fictional fixtures and Output Data records a local output result. You can study the handoff without writing files on your computer. Check the selected fields and their types before you treat an output as ready for another person.
