Grove Reporting receives a new service extract and a separate hours feed. One manager asks for net amount by team, another needs a count of distinct work orders, and the staffing planner needs daily hours in a wide table. Establish what one output row should represent before choosing a tool.
Repeated input rows affect sums and record counts. They don't necessarily change a distinct identifier count. The hours feed also repeats a team/day combination, so Cross Tab must aggregate those records. Preserve the requested measure when you reshape it. Transpose takes the opposite direction and repeats its key for each selected day. These tasks revisit the earlier tools on new numbers and team names so that you can check the rule rather than memorize a visible total.
