Text to Columns splits a field by delimiters. Choose whether the tokens become new columns or separate records. Consecutive delimiters can represent an empty token, and a field with more tokens than the configured number of columns needs review. The delimiter is a separator rule, not a substring search for the entire line.
RegEx has several output methods. Match tests a pattern and produces a Boolean field. Parse places captured groups in named output fields. Replace changes matching text, while Tokenize creates records from matches. Anchor a pattern when you need to validate the complete value rather than find a small matching fragment. Inspect unmatched values and keep the output type appropriate for the method. An invalid reference needs to stay visible as an exception instead of disappearing unnoticed.
