The executive summary is often the only slide a busy reader reads. It follows the same shape as a spoken recommendation:
- The title is the answer: what the client should do and what it gets them. Not "Executive summary".
- Two to four supporting points underneath, one per line, each a full sentence with the number that proves it.
- Most important first. If the reader stops after one bullet, they should still have the main reason.
- Nothing that doesn't support the answer. Background goes in an appendix.
Common slips: the answer hidden in the last bullet, bullets with no numbers, and six bullets where three would do. In the editor, double-click the text box, use Enter between bullets, and Esc when you're done.
