Ingress declares HTTP routing by host and path. Its backend references a Service and Service port, which then lead to ready application Pods. The declaration needs a compatible Ingress controller in a production cluster; creating the resource alone doesn't install one. Check the ingress class, requested host and path matching rule before tracing the backend. A correct Service reference with the wrong host still misses the client's request. These exercises use reserved example.test hostnames and original local manifests. You'll preserve the intended public route while repairing a backend reference or host mismatch, without pretending to allocate public infrastructure.
