A successful Delta write creates a version. DESCRIBE HISTORY lists those commits and their operations. VERSION AS OF reads an earlier snapshot without changing the current table. RESTORE changes the current data to a previous snapshot and creates another commit; it does not erase the intervening history.
Aster Supply's working table has an accidental amount correction. You can compare the original version with the current one before restoring it. Use version numbers from that table's history, not from another table or a notebook execution count. TIMESTAMP AS OF resolves a snapshot from a timestamp, so time-zone interpretation and the available log matter. Both forms depend on retained data files. VACUUM can remove files older snapshots need, which means a visible history entry alone does not guarantee that the old data is still readable.
