Scrolling through a long list is slow. These keys jump instead:
- Ctrl+Arrow (Mac: Cmd+Arrow) goes to the edge of the data in that direction.
- Ctrl+Home (Mac laptop: Fn+Ctrl+Left) goes to cell A1, or to the first cell below a frozen header row.
- Ctrl+End (Mac laptop: Fn+Ctrl+Right) goes to the last cell that holds data.
- Home (Mac laptop: Fn+Left) goes to column A of the current row.
Ctrl+Arrow follows a simple rule. From a filled cell it stops at the last filled cell before a blank. From a blank cell it jumps to the next filled cell. So a gap in the data stops it early: press it again to keep going.
On a Mac, Ctrl+Arrow is often taken by the system for switching desktops, which is why Excel for Mac uses Cmd. The key card under the ribbon shows the keys for your keyboard; switch between Windows and Mac there.
