Interviewers test accounting by changing one number and asking what happens. Answer in the same order every time: income statement, then cash flow statement, then balance sheet, and check that the balance sheet still balances.
The pattern for an expense that's tax deductible: net income falls by the expense x (1 - tax rate). If the expense is non-cash (depreciation, a write-down, stock-based compensation), add it back on the cash flow statement, so cash goes up by the tax saved.
Each question here gives the facts on the sheet. Work it out and type the number of the change, with a minus for a decrease: for "net income falls by 7.50", type -7.5. Answers within a cent count.
Questions run from easy to hard. The hard ones combine two effects; write down each statement's change before you add them up.
