Ten problems, one or two cells each, mixed on purpose so you have to pick the function yourself. No steps this time.
Before each formula, ask three questions. What is unknown? That picks the function: a payment (PMT), a future balance (FV), a value today (PV or NPV), a rate (RATE or IRR), a number of periods (NPER). What is the period? Monthly payments need a monthly rate and a count of months. Which way does the money go? Money paid out is negative.
The answers are checked on a second, hidden set of numbers too, so point every formula at the input cells.
Unknown Function
payment PMT(rate, nper, pv)
future value FV(rate, nper, pmt, [pv])
value today PV(rate, nper, pmt) or year 0 + NPV(rate, flows)
rate RATE(nper, pmt, pv, [fv]) or IRR(flows)
periods NPER(rate, pmt, pv, [fv])
Pick the function from what is unknown.
