A release handoff combines a clean tree, an explicit tag and a history that a reviewer can inspect. A tag alone is not proof that the right content is selected. Confirm the required files and branch before labeling the snapshot. These tasks combine earlier commands rather than adding a new Git mechanism. The final state must retain the reviewed route, use the requested release name and leave no unstaged or staged changes behind. If the tag points at HEAD~1, the current file can look correct while the release label still omits its fix. Verify the reference target together with the clean working tree and reviewed content.
