Talk through a repeatable sales report
Juniper Supply needs a weekly Excel sales report that another analyst can refresh. Its export has order_id, line_id, date, region, quantity and unit_price; export retries repeat some lines and one region has trailing spaces. Explain how you would build and check the workbook.

Mid standard
- Connect the assumptions, method and result: I treat one row as an order line and verify the composite order_id and line_id key because removing repeated orders would also delete legitimate lines. I check numeric types, returns and whitespace in region labels before grouping.
- Test the consequential edge case: I reconcile the cleaned total to the source with an explicit duplicate adjustment and check row keys because a matching grand total can hide offsets. I add a new row and a negative return to test range expansion and sign handling, then refresh the PivotTable.
- Explain an owned validation or operating check: I document the source contract, refresh steps and key checks because the report needs to survive my absence. I keep the raw export unchanged, show the reporting period and flag missing or invalid records before publishing.
