Selecting a data point can filter another visual, highlight a contribution within its total, or leave it alone. Edit interactions makes that behavior explicit for each source and target pair. Select the source first, then choose the icon above the target. Reversing the source and target changes a different interaction.
Use Filter when a store table should show only the selected region. Use Highlight when a chart should keep its full total and show the selected share inside it. Use None for a company benchmark that must remain stable while a reader explores a region. Slicers ordinarily filter, while highlighting is available only for visual combinations that support it. Test an unselected state as well as a selected one so the baseline stays understandable.
