A record maps field names to values. Brackets create a record, as in [Team = "Cedar", Limit = 90], or select a field from one. Every table row is a record when a row function evaluates it. Record.Field accepts a field name as text, which helps when the name comes from a parameter.
An absent field and a present field containing null are different. Record.FieldOrDefault supplies a fallback only when the field is absent. If the field exists and contains null, the result stays null. Record.ToTable turns a record into Name and Value rows for inspection. Keep the output shape in mind: records are not tables, and a whole record cannot be loaded as an ordinary numeric column. The tasks use explicit table wrappers so you can inspect the result.
