Exports made for people, not for analysis, carry extra rows: a title and a "prepared by" line at the top, a blank line before the totals, and a Total row at the bottom. They break everything downstream: the real headers end up in row 3, and the Total row doubles every sum.
Power Query removes them with steps that keep working next week:
- Remove Rows > Remove Top Rows drops a fixed number of rows from the top.
- Use First Row as Headers turns the first remaining row into column names.
- Remove Rows > Remove Blank Rows drops rows where every cell is empty.
- Remove Rows > Remove Bottom Rows drops a fixed number of rows from the end, such as a Total row.
The order matters: remove the title rows before you promote the headers.
