A booking request asks an approver to turn a proposed assignment into a commitment. Pending requests belong in the approval queue. They don't add confirmed hours until approved. Read the requested person, role, weekly hours and dates rather than approving from the project name alone.
Capacity can change while a request waits. The app checks the current schedule again at approval, which can reveal a conflict that wasn't present when the request was created. Reject an infeasible request and explain the constraint instead of forcing it into the schedule. Approval adds the confirmed booking and records the decision on the request. These are both parts of the outcome. If the person has a provisional reservation for the same work, review that reservation separately so later pressure reports don't show two records for one intended assignment.
