The candidate pipeline tracks an application against a specific requisition. Applied, Screen, Interview, Offer and Hired describe progress through that process. Rejected and Withdrawn are closed outcomes. A person's name alone doesn't identify which application you are changing; use the application ID and requisition together.
Move candidates in the order supported by evidence. Screening precedes interview, and an offer needs a completed interview with a hire recommendation. Acceptance of an offer establishes a hire; you can't create a hire merely by moving a card into the final column. Dates must follow the application's existing history. Closed records remain useful for conversion reporting because they may have reached earlier stages before leaving the funnel. A current-stage count therefore answers a different question from the number of applications that ever reached a stage. Preserve those events when recording a rejection or withdrawal.
