A requisition records an approved need to hire. It has a role title, team, skill level, location and headcount. Creating a draft allows a hiring manager to prepare the request; submitting it asks for approval. Approval and opening are separate events, and each has its own date.
Use Desk Hire's requisition list to inspect status before taking the next action. A pending request still needs a decision. An approved request can be opened when recruiting should begin, but it isn't automatically published to candidates. Keep the dates truthful because time-to-fill reporting uses the opening date rather than the first day someone drafted the request. A larger headcount means more than one accepted hire may be needed before the requisition is filled. Don't edit an approved requirement as if it were still a draft; a changed hiring need requires a fresh approval review.
