Utilization compares booked work with available working time. In this course, confirmed utilization is confirmed booking hours divided by net capacity, expressed as a percentage. A provisional reservation remains separate until someone commits it. The schedule may show both statuses, so read the legend before using a colored cell as evidence.
Team utilization is a ratio of totals. Add confirmed hours across the team, add net capacity, then divide. Averaging individual percentages gives every person the same weight even when one works twenty hours and another works forty. An overloaded person can exceed one hundred percent; that is a scheduling problem to investigate, not a reason to cap the reported figure. When net capacity is zero, Desk Staffing displays zero for this training measure and the underlying zero hours remain visible.
