MB52 gives an inventory list that you can filter and export. It is useful when a colleague needs a stock workbook rather than one material's overview. Keep the material, plant and storage-location keys in the list so each quantity has an organizational meaning. A total across different units of measure is usually a poor business measure; stock value provides a common currency basis in these exercises.
The report includes zero-stock materials when they exist in the data. Hiding them changes the row count, so document that filter when it is requested. Sort numeric quantities numerically, not alphabetically. The hidden variant changes opening quantities, which checks that your totals come from the report rather than an example's fixed numbers.
