A goods receipt records what arrived physically. In MIGO, movement type 101 receives goods against a purchase order item. It increases stock and creates the related accounting effect for valuated inventory. The order history tracks received quantity separately from ordered quantity, so a partial delivery leaves an open balance.
Always match the item as well as the order number. A multi-item PO can contain similar materials, and receiving the correct quantity against the wrong item produces the wrong stock result. Don't receive the full ordered quantity merely because it appears on the PO. Use the delivery evidence. These tasks check the receipt record and the stock change; repeating the receipt would increase stock twice and exceed the requested result.
