MMBE shows stock by material and organizational location. A stock quantity describes what is held, while an open purchase-order quantity describes what is still expected. Adding the two without naming the distinction makes a shortage report difficult to use. Start with the material and plant, then inspect the location and unrestricted quantity.
A goods receipt changes stock; a supplier invoice doesn't add the material again. A zero-stock material should remain distinguishable from a material key that doesn't exist. In these exercises, use the report filters and answer from the selected records. The hidden dataset changes opening stock, so a memorized quantity won't keep passing. The correct result comes from the current stock records.
