The Marks card controls how each mark looks. Drop a field on one of its buttons:
- Color: a dimension gives each member its own color from the Tableau 10 palette, and bars stack. A measure gives a gradient. When it has negative values, Tableau switches to an orange and blue diverging palette.
- Size: bigger marks for bigger values.
- Label: text on the marks.
- Detail: more marks, one per member, with no change in color.
- Tooltip: extra lines in the box that appears when you hover.
Every dimension on the Marks card changes the level of detail: Tableau draws one mark for each combination of the dimensions in the view. Two measures alone give a single dot, the grand total. Add Sub-Category to Detail and you get one dot per sub-category.
