Put dimensions on both Rows and Columns and Automatic picks the Text mark: a crosstab. Drag a measure to Text on the Marks card to fill the cells. Until you do, Tableau shows Abc as a placeholder.
A highlight table is the same table with color. Set the mark type to Square and drop the measure on Color as well. Square marks fill each cell, so the eye goes straight to the big numbers.
To show two or more measures in one table, double-click the second measure. Tableau switches to Measure Names, a dimension holding the names of the measures, and Measure Values, one field holding their values. A Measure Values card appears and lists the measures in use. Drag measures onto it or off it to change the table.
