Filters define the population after the data source has supplied its instances. Combine conditions with AND when every condition must hold, or OR when any condition is enough. Write the intended rule in a sentence first; changing the logic can produce plausible rows that answer a different question.
Dates and blanks deserve their own checks. A blank termination date describes an ongoing record, while a termination on September 30 belongs to a September exit window that includes its final day. Sorting changes presentation, not membership. Add an ID as a tie-breaker when names, titles or pay values repeat, so an export has a predictable order each time it runs.
