A custom report starts with a question, a population and a row grain. A Simple report lists fields from its primary business object. It's useful when you need a straightforward register, without the related-object or summary features that call for a different report type.
Choose the data source before selecting columns. The source can already exclude people: the All Active Workers source filter won't recover former workers merely because you add terminationDate. Keep the worker ID beside the name when someone will reconcile the output. A readable column heading helps the consumer, but it doesn't change the underlying field. Run the report and inspect its rows before calling the definition complete.
